Runner, climber, peak bagger, and general crazy person.
Married with three kids. My wife also runs, but not quite with my obsession. I've been running since January 2009, so I am still learning, usually the hard way.
45:15 - I wasn't really planning on running today, but my wife and I needed to go drop her car off at the mechanics. She needed to get in a 4 mile run, so I said we should just run home (with a few minor detours). It was a very casual run and we enjoyed talking the whole way. Oh, and the weather was perfect.
4:18:34 - 2:15:00 up, 2:03:00 down. Splits are listed below. If you care enough to read the actual details feel free to go to my personal adventure blog and check it out. Link is on the left.
55:56 - I ran my 5.15 mile loop from the office in regular shoes and did another 1.9 in my VFFs. My left foot hurt slightly in my normal shoes and I was hoping that it would feel even better in my VFFs. Unfortunately, it hated the VFFs and really hurt the whole loop. My legs feel super fresh though. Like, SUPER fresh.
Today is the first day of my companies annual Walk the XO Network contest. It's a team event where everyone where's pedometers and counts their steps each day and records them on a website. The team with the most steps by Oct 13 wins. My team should be really good this year, but it won't matter. The team that wins each year LIES. They have to lie, otherwise each person on the team runs a minimum of a marathon a day . . . . and I've seen pictures of these people, most couldn't walk 5 miles in a day if their life depended on it. So, I resign myself to being honest and seeing what kind of numbers I can put up anyway. They want people to have a goal of 12,000 a day (walking that would be roughly 6 miles, which isn't a lot considering how much people move around just doing normal stuff). It's 11am and I'm already at around 15,000. Ha.
